Make sure to buy your tickets for our 50th Anniversary Gala on Sunday, March 2. We're thrilled to announce that Governor JB Pritzker and Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton will be joining us! Our keynote speaker, Anderson Clayton, is one of the most dynamic young leaders in the Democratic Party. She was elected Chair of the Democratic Party of North Carolina in 2023 at the age of 25. Our Gala helps fund our efforts to get Democrats out to vote in the important local elections on April 1. We've printed 100,000 postcards for volunteers to write to boost Democratic turnout (sign-up below). We will also send hundreds of thousands of text messages to Democrats once early voting starts on March 17.
Two state and local wins to celebrate this week! Karina's Law was signed by Gov. Pritzker on Monday. The law requires local law enforcement to remove firearms from someone who has an order of protection against them when the alleged victim successfully seeks firearm removal as a remedy in court. Yesterday, the DuPage County Board voted 10-5 to remove Henry Hyde's name from the county courthouse. Public comments skewed in favor of removing his name by a margin of 2 to 1, thanks to many of you! |
