One of Greg's Earth Month activities included spending a Saturday morning with friends picking up trash along the Great Western Trail in Carol Stream. The group filled 12 large garbage bags in two hours. Cleaning has never been so much fun!

We celebrated Arbor Day with a tree planting (and a little education) at Heritage Lakes School in Carol Stream!

During April, Versiti Blood Centers partnered with Forestmatic to plant a tree for each pint of blood donated. Save a life & plant a tree!🩸🌳

County Board Member Greg Schwarze attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Community Park Renovation Project in Carol Stream. Greg was proud to help DuPage County allocate $1 million in ARPA funds to support the project.

County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek announces DuPage had the highest regional voter turnout in the 2023 Consolidated Election compared with suburban Cook, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry counties. DuPage County had 20.33% voter turnout, nearly three points above the next-highest county.

The Village of Glen Ellyn's Environmental Commission will host the Annual Recycling Extravaganza. This annual recycling event provides the public with the opportunity to bring items to be recycled, reused and kept out of landfills.

Firefighters, 911 & 211!

Carol Stream Professional Fire Fighters Local 3192 presented its 8th annual scholarships to Glenbard North seniors. Candidates had to write an essay on "Why labor unions are relevant in today's society." Retired Fire Fighter Greg Schwarze was honored to hand out the awards again this year. HAPPY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK! Thank you to all of our DuPage County 9-1-1 Dispatchers! They rarely get the kudos they deserve despite saving lives every single day. Chair Deborah Conroy and ETSB Chair Greg Schwarze presented a proclamation to DuPage Public Safety Communications, Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center - ACDC, and City of Naperville, Illinois, Government telecommunications staff in recognition of April 9-15 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
