Rx Needed for Peter Roskam’s Portrayal of Casten’s Healthcare Stand
"Republicans have been complaining about the effects of Obamacare for years, but Roskam is taking some wild swings with this attack on Casten. There’s a lot here to unpack, so to keep it simple this fact-check focuses on the ad’s unsubstantiated healthcare claims."

Some Thoughts...
The hardest part about a reality TV star being president is that we forget to differentiate the two. The Presidency isn't a television series, even if Trump and the rest of the terrible people surrounding him treat it that way.

Omarosa and her book don't matter. The tape of John Kelly firing Omarosa doesn't matter. Most importantly, the news segments that cover these events don't matter. One thing we've learned in the Age of Trump is that major news networks are really bad at resisting the bait.

Here are some things that matter:

I know it's all so overwhelming, especially when you realize that the problems we know about are just the tip of the iceberg. But luckily, and I'll die on this hill, the beginning of the solution to all of these problems is the same.

Knock Doors. Phone Bank. Get involved.

Some Thoughts...
This week, Rep. Chris Collins (R) was charged with insider traiding, and a Forbes investigative report shows a pattern of heavy grifting from Sec. of Commerce Wilbur Ross. Both men were early supporters of Donald Trump.

But some good stuff happened, too! Tuesday was primary and special election day in several states, with some exciting outcomes. There was a too-close-to-call special election in Ohio's 12th district between Republican Republican Troy Balderson, who has Trump's support, and Democrat Danny O'Connor. This district had a 14 point lean toward the Republican prior to the race. The fact that it is still this close shows that Democratic momentum is growing across the country, even in heavily red districts!

Also on Tuesday, Missouri, a notoriously red state, voted down a right-to-work law that would've crippled a lot of private sector unions. You probably recognize the term "right-to-work" from a recent Supreme Court ruling on right-to-work laws for public-sector unions.

Turns out that we currently don't have the power to stop the bad stuff (corruption, grifting, Russia, the general swampiness of the Republican party). But we do have the power to positively change things.

How? Vote.
