Day of Action this Saturday; The passing of a friend to DPDC

Greetings! Our good friend and patron, Russ Gazzano, owner of La Tosca in Villa Park, passed away suddenly this week. We send our condolences to his family and thank them for their friendship to the DPDC. We will miss Russ' smiling face this week's event and when we patronize La Tosca in days and years to come. Diversity Dinner on July 16 WAS A HUGE SUCCESS   Many many thanks to Moon Khan and his lovely family for providing the venue and delicious entrees to feed nearly 150 people. The DPDC and Women and Minorities Outreach Committee's first Diversity Dinner was successful beyond our expectations. More than 100 people showed up at the home of Moon Khan to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim Community. Chairman Bob Peickert led off the event by welcoming all and by stressing the importance of diversity in the Democratic Party. Other fine speakers included Azam Nizamuddin, Noboku Kudo, Flo Villegas and many candidates.                                              WHAT AN AMAZING EVENT!                                                       SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:   Welcome Bill Lavin, our Director of PC Development. We're delighted to have Bill Lavin, Naperville Township, serve as in this position. Prior to this position, Bill was formerly the 1st Vice-Chair of the NTDO and its PC Coordinator. Bill will be working with the officers on this high priority need. Bill's experience and success with NTDO is sure to pay dividends for the DPDC.
