Who is Moon Khan?

Working full time as Director of Information Resources, Moon's second job has been volunteerism. 

Moon has more than 20 years of experience in inter governmental systems. He worked for Cook County Clerk David Orr's office, DuPage County Health Departme, and DuPage Housing Authority. Moon has also the distinction of working in three countries, and in both corporate as well as public sectors.

Moon has served on the board of directors of more than two dozen social service and charitable organizations that include DuPage Chapters of American Cancer Society and United Way(Director), Village of Lombard's Community Relations Committee (Member), Village of Bloomingdale's Fourth of July Commission (Commissioner), India Development Service (Board Member), Federation of Indian Associations (Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect), Toastmasters International's Cook County Chapter (Vice President, Area Governor), CIOGC's Media Relations Committee (Secretary), Asian American Coalition's Media Relations Committee 1994 (Chairman), National Federation of Indian Association's 8th Biennial 1994 Convention (Publicity Committee Chairperson), ISNA's 1997 National Convention's Media Relations Committee (chairperson), the Asian American Institute (Director),Asian American Journalists Association (Vice President), Bihar Cultural Association(Founding President), and Founding President of APNA USA (Asian Political Network of the United States of America)

Founding President of the Asian American Caucus of DuPage, Moon holds M.A. and M.B.A. degrees along with certifications in computer networking. 

Former Community Editor of the India Tribune and Chief Editor of Spotlight Weekly, Moon has anchored the Community News segment of Bharat Darshan, an Indian community's cable-based TV program. 

For his community activities, Moon has been widely profiled and quoted in the major mainstream and ethnic news media that include the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, Daily Southtown, Islamic Horizon, India Tribune, India Abroad, Editor and Publisher, Asian Week, Via Times, Daily Chronicle, The Muslim Observer, Pakistan Link, Lombardian, Lombard Spectator, and Hindustan Times. He also appeared on Voice of America, WTTW Channel 11's Chicago Tonight with John Calloway and Phil Ponce, WGN TV, WLS ABC TV Channel 7, WMAQ NBC TV Channel 5, WBBM CBS Channel 2, WFLD FOX Channel 32, BBC World Service, Doordarshan - India's national TV, Kolkata TV of India, WGN 720 Radio, WBEZ/NPR, and on almost all local ethnic and mainstream local TV channels and radio programs. He was quoted in the Chicago Tribune's Editorial several times. 

For his outreach works, Moon has been honored with numerous awards that include the India Tribune's Community Activist Award, Indo-American Democratic Organization's President's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, Northern Illinois University's Outstanding Graduate Award, Intercollegiate Asian American Students Association of Chicago's Exemplary Human Services Award, Federation of India Association's Community Service Award, Bihar Cultural Association's Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award for Social Services, and Asian American community's Asian Hall of Fame Award.
