DuPage Democrats August 7

Democratic Party of DuPage County

Weekly Newsletter

Celebrate our Democratic Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates!

The DuPage Democrats are energized to have our top-of-the-ticket secured and to work hard to bring out the vote for these great candidates. Vice President Harris and Governor Walz have the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience to continue to move the United States forward on key issues important to voters. DuPage voters agree that we need to:

Continue to improve our economy with low unemployment, higher wages, and a commitment to labor while we bring manufacturing home to America.

Remain committed to the fight for women's reproductive rights and access to abortion, contraceptives, and IVF.

Continue to confront the climate crisis and strengthen American infrastructure for the safety and growth of communities and businesses.

Protect and improve gun safety reforms to continue to reduce violent crime, now at a near 50 year low.

As a reminder, when you donate to candidates, go to their websites so it goes directly to them.

DuPage Democrats Reaching Out to Voters

The DuPage Democrats will be conducting a coordinated campaign to work with our Democratic candidates across the county to get out the vote. From our Congressional Representatives like Sean Casten and Delia Ramirez to our County Board Members like Lucy Chang Evans, Lynn LaPlante, and Greg Schwarze to our Judges, like Linda Davenport and Chantelle Porter, our experienced and highly qualified Democratic officials deserve your vote.  County Board candidates like Saba Haider, Andrew Honig, and Dr. Maria Sinkule will continue to make DuPage a great place to live and to do business. Here is a link to our Democratic candidates in DuPage:

Join us as we introduce voters to the candidates and as we share with voters why it's necessary to vote our whole ballot, including the crucial judicial races.

There's a lot of work to do and we are pleased to welcome Ioana Fernandez as our Executive Director for the DuPage Democrats. Ioana is a DuPage resident and knows our organization and our candidates.

The work to turn out the vote for our candidates is a priority and we thank our volunteers and contributors for their help. Democracy is fragile and working together to build a better DuPage is our goal.

DuPage County Earns

AAA Bond Rating from Fitch

DuPage County Board Chair Deborah Conroy announced that the County has received the highest possible AAA bond rating from Fitch Ratings. The Fitch analysis reflected the County's strong financial management; diverse, highly educated workforce; low unemployment rate; limited debt; and healthy reserve levels. DuPage County joins an elite group of fewer than 2 percent of U.S. counties that enjoy a AAA bond rating from all three major rating agencies.

Here is the Zoom link: https://bit.ly/2024-07-21-training.

Lisle Township Democratic Organization and the Democratic Party of DuPage County will provide applicable training and materials for those interested in running for local elected offices in April 2025 or those who want to have a paid campaign position or learn more about a topic.

We know how to get you elected or help get others elected. Many of you may wish to work on a campaign but need to know where to start, or you are a candidate who wishes to learn something other than the hard way. You need this knowledge if you are running for office. Candidate Boot Camp has a theoretical component and an experiential one. You can go to one class or all of them. You will learn highly marketable skills that can be used to get paid campaign work or do your own work. You must be a Democrat living in Illinois. This will be free training, but you must fill in the form below to reserve your spot. Various experts in the field or people from local or national campaigns will teach the classes or work with you. If you finish, we will help you find a job or race to get involved with. If you have any questions, please email diahewitt@earthlink.net or call Diane at 630-776-2324.

The first class is about who we are, the decision to run, and what do you want to run for.
