Alice Wilson is a candidate for the position of 18th Circuit Court Judge in DuPage County. She grew up in Mississippi and graduated with honors from her local High School. She attended college at Alcorn State University where she was also on the honor roll. Alice moved to the Chicago area in 1981 and then to Woodridge in 1994. Alice has two children, a son and a daughter.

Alice worked for the Federal Government in the General Services Administration (GSA) as a Contract Specialist for thirteen years. In this position Alice oversaw multi-million dollar contracts to build and rehab federal facilities throughout the Midwestern region. While working at the GSA and raising her son, she attended and graduated from The John Marshall Law School. She passed the bar exam on her first attempt.

After leaving the GSA, Alice practiced law as a solo practitioner in criminal and family law in Cook, Will and DuPage Counties. In 1997 she became an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) for the City of Chicago and held that position until 2018. As an ALJ she presided over hundreds of trials giving her a great deal of experience as a judge. Alice has also served as an arbitrator on cases in Cook County for over twenty years. As an arbitrator, lawyers argued personal injury and contract cases before her. In 2015, Alice passed the Illinois Real Estate exam to receive a license as a Real Estate Broker and has done Real Estate closings as part of her law practice.

Alice believes that an impartial judicial system, independent of political influence and without regard for social status is one of the corner stones of our democracy. She says that the courts are supposed to provide fair and impartial justice for all those who come before it. She says that, unfortunately, there has been a lack of diversity on the bench in DuPage and it is vital that our courts reflect the demographics of the population.

Alice is a lifelong Democrat and active in the DuPage Democratic Party for many years. She has said that she would be proud to be the first African American elected to the bench.
