We are fortunate to have three well-qualified, experienced Democratic candidates running for Appellate Court, and you should vote for all three. Remember, they are not running against each other; together they protect our rights and liberties in Illinois.
Justice Lance Peterson is currently an appellate court justice, and your vote to elect him to continue on the bench is the right decision.
Lance Peterson is an experienced judge. After practicing law and becoming a State’s Attorney, in 2001 he was appointed to serve as an associate judge and then a circuit judge. He’s been on the bench for more than two decades. He knows litigation and that’s important to lawyers entering the courtroom and expecting fair reviews of their cases.
He’s a leader. As a circuit judge, Lance Peterson led a team that implemented the Grundy County Treatment Alternative Court where he presided for eight years. His efforts helped prevent people with mental health issues from entering the criminal system or re-offending. As an appellate court justice, he serves on committees, such as the Illinois Courts Commission, where he continues to provide expertise for practitioners in the courts.
He’s respected, respectful & RECOMMENDED. The Illinois State Bar Association, in recommending Justice Peterson, evaluated a long list of characteristics including legal knowledge and ability, integrity, sensitivity to diversity and bias, judicial temperament, diligence, impartiality, professional conduct, and character. They found “he is well regarded for his knowledge and ability to apply the law, without bias, by attorneys who have practiced in front of him.”
Lance Peterson is recommended. His opponent is not recommended. The choice is clear. Vote Lance Peterson for Appellate Court!
