DuPage Democrats September 11

Democratic Party of DuPage County

Weekly Newsletter

The Democratic Party of DuPage County is Celebrating 50 years! YES it’s our Gold Anniversary!

In October 1974, the DuPage Democrats formalized its organization, establishing the Democratic party in DuPage. We began organizing and achieving for our residents. The leaders who knocked on doors and promoted our party took some hard knocks for standing up for women’s rights, unions, and the many steadfast values that promote economic and social progress. As we work together to elect candidates who are proud Democrats, we thank those who came before us. Every positive action helped build a better DuPage. We thank those who continue to work hard for Democrats.

Join Us at upcoming events!

  • We’ll be at Naper Pride this Saturday, September 14th in Naperville.
  • We’ll be having fun at our Picnic on Sunday, September 22nd from noon to 3 at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in north Downers Grove!
  • We’ll host the Holiday Party on December 6th at the Carlisle in Lombard!

And in between, we’ll be at your doors knocking for our local candidates and on the buses and phones for Vice President Harris and Governor Walz.

Across DuPage, our township Democrats unite to meet our neighbors and work together to keep DuPage the phenomenal place it is to live and work.

That Debate - Whoa! Two Very Different Visions

America knows it has a choice between two very different approaches. Vice President Harris is looking forward to creating an opportunity economy where, with hard work and ambition, everyone has a chance to compete and a chance to succeed. Donald Trump is running to enact his extreme and dangerous Project 2025 agenda to roll back American’s rights and freedoms and hurt the middle class. Vice President Harris knows that when the middle class is strong, America is strong. Growing the middle class is a defining goal of her Presidency.

  • She’ll cut taxes for more than 100 million Americans and help small businesses and entrepreneurs grow and thrive.
  • She’ll pass the first-ever federal ban on corporate price gouging on food and groceries.
  • She’ll make housing more affordable by building 3 million new homes in part through a new home builder tax credit, and help more Americans experience the pride of homeownership by giving up to $25K in down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers.
  • She will proudly sign a law to restore reproductive freedom. She trusts women and believes the government shouldn’t come between a woman and her doctor.
  • She will sign the bipartisan bill to secure the border and she will fight for the freedom to live safe from gun violence. After decades in law enforcement, she knows the importance of safety and security.
  • She will be a president for all Americans, who unites us around our highest aspirations, and who always fights for the American people.

We are depending on each other. We need to keep America from going back to the chaos. Vote Kamala Harris for President, and Tim Walz for Vice-President. Your vote for Democrats will help your kids to be able to afford a house, your grandchildren to be able to make their own choices about starting a family, and your Congress to be able to pass the bipartisan bill to help secure the border and fix immigration issues. Your vote for Harris/Walz is a vote for the candidates who understand the rule of law and honor it.

And take your vote for Democrats from the White House to the Court House. We want judges who honor the rule of law and understand precedent. Don’t drop off, vote your whole ballot!

The yard signs will be available for pick up/delivery in the next two weeks

Everyone who preordered a yard sign will be notified promptly. We appreciate your patience

Lisle Township Democratic Organization and the Democratic Party of DuPage County will provide applicable training and materials for those interested in running for local elected offices in April 2025 or those who want to have a paid campaign position or learn more about a topic.

We know how to get you elected or help get others elected. Many of you may wish to work on a campaign but need to know where to start, or you are a candidate who wishes to learn something other than the hard way. You need this knowledge if you are running for office. Candidate Boot Camp has a theoretical component and an experiential one. You can go to one class or all of them. You will learn highly marketable skills that can be used to get paid campaign work or do your own work. You must be a Democrat living in Illinois. This will be free training, but you must fill in the form below to reserve your spot. Various experts in the field or people from local or national campaigns will teach the classes or work with you. If you finish, we will help you find a job or race to get involved with. If you have any questions, please email diahewitt@earthlink.net or call Diane at 630-776-2324.
