Spotlight - Early Voting Starts Today in DuPage County

It’s TIME!!! Voting Starts Today in DuPage County!

VOTING INFORMATION

Sample ballots are available for DuPage residents

Map

Early, early in-person voting starts today

In DuPage, you can vote at any election site, even on Election Day November 5th! The election judges enter your information and print your ballot.

Your Vote by Mail ballots will start being mailed to you today if you have signed up for it.  You can sign up through October and there is a permanent vote by mail option so you receive the ballot by mail every election.

Once you receive your ballot, return it. It must be postmarked by November 5, 2024 or returned in person by 7:00 pm CST (at the voting location, including the County building or VOTING drop box).

Note: Voters often forget to sign the outside of the envelope which means your ballot is not counted unless and until you correct that (within the required time frame).  Double-check that you signed your envelope!

If you decide you prefer to vote in person, and you have requested a VBM ballot, bring your blank ballot to turn in and the election judges will give you an in-person voting ballot. This allows your vote to count immediately.  If you lose it or don’t have your VBM ballot, you are allowed to vote in person, but your ballot will be “provisional” until the election office confirms that your VBM was not returned.

Candidates

We have great candidates.  Our page will help you connect to their websites and information!

ISSUES

Issues matter, thoughtful approaches matter, and truth matters. Vice President Harris and Governor Walz exemplify the serious dedication to serving the people that we ask of every elected official. We ask for your vote for every Democratic candidate on your ballot in DuPage.

IT IS THE ECONOMY! Yes indeed, James Carville said it, it’s the economy stupid. Well sometimes in politics, voters can lose sight of the truth because so much is thrown at them. It’s important that we spread the word so that people know Democratic candidates are on the side of working families and when working families thrive, America thrives.

Democrats at every level of government are making responsible investments in our infrastructure and public safety to create a platform for continued economic growth across our state and in our county. DuPage and Illinois elected Democrats are achieving balanced budgets and credit ratings better than we’ve seen in decades. Illinois has achieved historic financial improvements in recent years.

At the national level, major investment banks and traditionally conservative publications are supporting the Harris/Walz administration for stability and growth in the U.S. economy. Economists at Moody’s and the conservative-leaning Tax Foundation both predict a second Trump term could drive America into a recession. Trump’s economic plans would cost America over 3 million jobs, explode the national debt, and cause skyrocketing inflation. The billionaires would be okay, but even billionaire Mark Cuban calls Trump’s tariff plans for American company John Deere, “insanity.”

Vote for economic stability that focuses on working families and lowering the costs of living. Vote for the Opportunity Economy your Democratic candidates have built and are continuing to build.

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS. A top issue has become reproductive rights because Trump proudly nominated 3 Supreme Court Justices, 2 of whom said they would honor precedent and didn’t, thus overturning established law and eliminating reproductive choice across America. Don’t be fooled by the Republican mantra that it’s now “just” States’ rights. Women are dying from being denied medical care because of Trump and his Supreme Court Justices. States are criminalizing doctors’ actions. Some Republicans are advocating to track women’s periods and their movements. The time to act, TO VOTE, is now.

At a time when women’s maternal health across America is at risk, Illinois proudly supports women by trusting them to make their own medical decisions and not tracking them when they exercise their rights.

The Democratic party supports women’s access to the full range of reproductive health rights.

Did you know that in a recent Congressional vote, of the 203 Republican representatives, 195 of them voted AGAINST women’s rights to obtain contraceptives? That vote revealed the Republican platform to deny women their reproductive rights is all-encompassing.

The Republican party feels they should control the choices women make from contraception to IVF to abortion. Republicans deny access to reproductive rights, it’s the sad, extremist, plain truth.

Democrats understand that your choice to have children is yours alone and medical decisions are between you and your doctor. Safe, legal, and accessible health care is a priority for voters and our Democratic candidates agree.

Let’s vote Democratic full ballot to get Republicans out of our bedrooms and doctors’ offices.

Vote for all our Democratic judges to protect the rights we have in Illinois.

A reminder that the “Independent” judge running in subcircuit 1 in DuPage has actually been a decades-long Republican so don’t be fooled by his sudden switch to appear other than he’s always been! If you value your privacy rights and you want your daughters and granddaughters to maintain their reproductive rights in Illinois, Vote for Democratic judges.

A reminder that Kenton Skarin, Republican judge candidate, supports Clarence Thomas, worked for him, speaks highly of him. You know Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court justice who is committed to being an activist judge under the cover of conservatism, wrongfully overturning decades of American jurisprudence while quietly taking gifts from billionaires and Republican lobbyists. Vote for John Anderson and ALL Democratic judges.

A reminder that every Republican and Independent candidate for judge should be understood to support the Trump agenda, some are just more loud about it than others. The Republican party in Illinois is currently controlled by the extremist side, they are not Lincoln-type Republicans. Vote Democratic for qualified, experienced, and fair judges.
