This year, our amazing Events Team wanted to more deeply invest in our shared values of enjoyment of one another and commitment to caring for those who may feel outside of the human family right now and who are struggling each moment to feed, house and clothe themselves. There is, of course, no reason why we cannot honor this holiday season and the work we do as Democrats AND provide for those who may not presently be doing well financially.  Below you will find the list of items that we will be gathering for Family Shelter Services and DuPage PADS. If you are unable to attend the Holiday Party but would still like to drop by or send in a donation please contact the Events Team here to arrange for this. Family Shelter Services Wish List:  Family Shelter Service transforms lives by offering help and hope to those affected by domestic violence. Holiday Shoppe is an opportunity to share the joy of the holiday season with those affected by domestic violence and their children. Thanks to you, our clients will be able to shop for free for their family in a welcoming and safe environment! Gift Cards: Target, Visa, Walmart, Jewel and Aldi, Gas Cards, Hats, Scarves, Mittens, Baby Toys, Children's Books (English and Spanish), Children's Puzzles, Educational Toys (no violent toys or play weapons), Children's Arts & Crafts Supplies, Soccer Balls, Youth Jewelry   DuPage PADS Wish List:  DuPage PADS provides interim and permanent housing and support services to end homelessness.  Gift Cards: Target, Jewel, Walgreens, CVS,Gas Station, Travel Umbrellas, Diapers (Size 04-06), Bath Towels, Blankets (Full or Twin), Dish Cloths, Kitchen Garbage Containers and Bags, Laundry Detergent, Toilet Paper FILING YOUR PETITIONS DOESN'T START UNTIL 11/27 BUT....  Don't put it off until then, please. It only takes a few hours and makes a WORLD of difference (and these fall days are ripe for connecting with your neighbors before winter comes and you need to borrow some jumper cables!). Just a few hints: * You may sign as many petitions as you wish as along as the candidate is a Democrat (yes, even if they are running for the same office). *Instructions for how to sign/organize petitions correctly and links to PC petition materials can be found on the PC Resources Page if you are an existent Precinct Representative or are running to become one now. Please ask your township chair for the password to get into that resource if needed. Township links can be found here. ON   11/7  11/14  11/21  11/28 6-9 pm DPDC HQ MAP RSVP here to let us know you are attending or to ask any questions you have about getting petitions, turning them in, etc! THERE IS STILL TIME TO BECOME AN ELECTED OFFICIAL! There is really only ONE way to get out of the spiral of frustration our present leadership causes...BECOME A LEADER YOURSELF. The Democratic Party of DuPage County offers a very comprehensive introduction to being a Precinct Committeeman with trainers who can answer all your questions and get you on the best track to create a difference in your precinct (which dominoes into creating change everywhere). Two upcoming PC trainings are on 11/7 and 11/15 with plenty of time remaining for you to get on the ballot as the PC in your neighborhood.
