| A Word from Chair Reid McCollum
Governor JB Pritzker was in DuPage this week to celebrate the huge Democratic victories in local races on April 1. No county had more Democratic success in the April 1 elections than DuPage. Joining the Governor in a press conference was Addison Township Supervisor-elect Bobby Hernandez — the first Latino township supervisor in DuPage's history. Other speakers included Democratic Party of IL Chair, Lisa Hernandez, IL Senate President Don Harmon, DuPage County Board Chair Deb Conroy, DuPage Dem's Chair Reid McCollum, and the newly-elected Mayor of Aurora, John Laesch. “On April 1, we ran 49 Democrats and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them won,” said DuPage County Democratic Party Chair Reid McCollum. “This unprecedented election sweep was decades in the making. But it came down to teamwork and hard work.”
“What a journey DuPage County has been on. A few years ago the County was seen as Republican territory,” said DuPage County Board Chair Deb Conroy. “By working together and building trust in our communities, we’ve changed that.” Looking ahead, we're excited to help sponsor a conversation with Senator Elissa Slotkin and Governor Gretchen Witmer hosted by the IWIL Training Academy. The virtual event via Zoom is Tuesday, May 6 from 6:00-6:45 PM. As a sponsor, we're able to offer tickets for $50 (normally $100). RSVP Here. |
