The Beer Battle of Minocqua: A Progressive Business Fights to Survive in Wisconsin
Recent DuPage Dem. keynote speaker Kirk Bangstad, brewer of progressive beer, wine and WOKE coffee, is fighting to keep his Minocqua Brewing Company and its all important Wisconsin superpac in operation.
A Wednesday, July 26th hearing held by the Oneida County Planning and Development Committee turned contentious and was cut short, leaving the future of Minocqua Brewing Company undecided.
At issue are numerous permit violations and the town of Minocqua's many roadblocks, hampering the popular tourist destination's ability to serve their progressive leaning customers. The Minocqua Brewing Company is simply fighting for its right to have an outdoor space to serve its customers, like almost every other bar, restaurant, and taproom in Wisconsin is allowed to have.
Not happy with the huge show of support for Minocqua Brewing, and specifically its politically progressive owner Kirk Bangstad, the Oneida County Politburo (committee) has now rescheduled a far less open and democratic meeting for today, Wednesday, August 2nd.
Earlier this year, the Minocqua Brewing Company superpac funded dozens of billboards in support of Judge Janet Protasiewicz. Both thankfully and ironically, Judge Janet was sworn onto the Wisconsin Supreme Court just yesterday Tuesday, August 1st. Reminding us that while gains continue to be made, the fight for fairness continues.
