Hi Fellow Democrats, Tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 at 5:00pm at Ida B. Wells and Michigan Avenue we have the opportunity to protest Trump's attempt to create his own private paramilitary to terrorize our community. To protest masked and unaccountable goons who ignore due process. To protest rampant illegal actions and defying court orders. To protest a would-be authoritarian who threatens to revoke citizenship for exercising our right to free speech. To protest weaponizing government against his political opponents. To protest the xenophobia and racism that has defined the Republican Party for 40 years. JOIN US!  Statement from Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights: While we have been preparing to face Trump’s aggression and protect our communities however we can, we have ALREADY seen an escalation in our region this week.  These are forms of psychological warfare, and one of the many attacks on Chicago and Illinois that come out of the Trump White House every single day. These tactics by Trump, taken together, are tantamount to escalation. The escalation from Trump, and the growing solidarity among our movements is why we plan on taking to the streets this weekend.
