A Summer of Change for the DuPage Dems

Hi Fellow Democrats,

I'm excited to share some highlights from the past six months, as well as what you can expect to see from us over the rest of this year as we work to build a strong Democratic Party of DuPage County.

These are just a few of the highlights from the first five months of 2025:

  • We hosted a Volunteer Expo at the College of DuPage in February — more than 550 people showed up to learn how to get involved with dozens of organizations and campaigns
  • Our 50th Anniversary Gala in March was the most profitable fundraiser in our history, allowing us to invest more than $25,000 in boosting Democratic turnout in the April 1 elections
  • All 49 Democratic candidates on the ballot on April 1 won their elections, and Governor Pritzker joined us to celebrate these unprecedented victories
  • More than 3,460 people have joined our email list over just the past three months
  • We overhauled our website, which now makes it easier for people to find ways to get involved or get active with their local township Democratic organization
  • We organized a 30-mile protest with 18,000 people called Hands Across Chicagoland, which was on The Rachel Maddow Show

Here what's coming later this year, as we prepare to elect Democrats up and down the ballot across DuPage in 2026:

  • We're starting regular virtual phone banks to recruit new volunteers, members, protestors and subscribers to our email list; we'd love your help!
  • We'll expand the hours the DPDC office in Carol Stream is open starting in August — in addition to our current 12-3pm hours Monday through Friday, we'll add evening hours on Tu/Th as well as weekend hours
  • We'll be a the DuPage County Fair, which is July 24-27
  • Circulating petitions for Democratic candidates will begin on August 5
  • Save the date for our Summer Picnic on Sunday, August 17 from 12-3 PM at the Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Lombard
  • We'll organize volunteers to knock doors from July through October, both to help Democratic candidates collect petition signatures, as well as to promote Permanent Vote by Mail among Democrats who don't reliably vote in non-Presidential elections

Here are some final housekeeping notes and how you can help:

  • We've been transitioning email platforms, which often means hiccups — please add info@dupagedemocrats.com to your email contacts to help ensure you continue to receive our emails in your inbox
  • We're going to experiment with sending slightly more shorter emails organized by theme rather than a single VERY long weekly newsletter with dozens of events and actions of every type — there are two reasons: first, the current format can create issues with deliverability or content being cut off due to length; secondly, most readers do not scroll past the halfway point of our emails, so we want to experiment with a new approach
  • Finally, it's a great time to renew your membership or become a new member with the DuPage Dems — it's just $50 per year or a recurring monthly contribution of $5 to officially be a member of the Democratic Party of DuPage County

Thank you!
