Liz Chaplin has been a member of the DuPage County Board for 12 years. Liz became interested in running for office after fighting to fix the water quality in her neighborhood because her family and her neighbors were being poisoned by the water. She fought to fix it and didn’t stop there!
Liz won a seat on the DuPage County Board because she knew the interests of residents in her area were not being addressed. Since winning, she has worked hard to make sure residents know her and her work on the Board. She currently chairs the Finance Committee and with the Democratic majority, DuPage County recently received a top tier credit rating – placing it in the top 1% of counties nationally.
Liz understands that the DuPage County government is intended to serve its residents, and spending wisely helps expand the services available to us. She is a consistent supporter of our union workers, knowing the value of an experienced and fairly paid labor force.
She is an advocate for gun safety laws, and while the County does not make law, she voted yes with other County Board members to encourage Illinois lawmakers to vote yes on the assault weapons ban. Liz Chaplin has received the endorsement of the Metropolitan Alliance of Police (MAP) Chapter #126 which represents the rank and file Sheriff’s Deputies, Judicial Office Facility staff and Court Security Officers. Liz’s support of the sheriff’s deputies will continue as Recorder where she will work to protect our residents against crimes such as property fraud. The Recorder’s Office is another of those government offices that residents don’t need to think about very often, usually only when they buy or sell property and need their deeds recorded. Liz Chaplin knows that the work of the office can be done well and also offer residents more information and greater protections. With her experience on the County Board, as Recorder, Liz will be an excellent asset to the Recorder’s office. Learn more about Liz Chaplin here
