The Great Western Trail Crossing Gets a Facelift!

"DUPAGE COUNTY IMPROVES THE GREAT WESTERN TRAIL CROSSING AT COUNTY FARM ROAD"

DuPage County completed construction to improve the Great Western Trail crossing at County Farm Road last week. The County constructed a curbed barrier median to enhance bicyclist and pedestrian safety when crossing County Farm Road. Greg, along with Friends of the GWT, has been fighting to make this crossing safer for two years. Longtime cyclist Don Kirchenberg commented, "The safety island on County Farm Rd at the GWT has been completed. Thank you to Greg Schwarze - DuPage County Board 6 and DuPage County's Transportation Committee chaired by DuPage County Board Member Mary Fitzgerald Ozog, for their work to make this dangerous crossing safer!"

DUPAGE COUNTY BOARD VOTES TO CONTINUE SENIOR MEAL DISTRIBUTION

In May the DuPage County Board allocated $240,000 in ARPA funds to the Dupage Senior Citizens Council allowing them to continue their drive-up senior meal program. This past weekend DuPage County Board Members Liz Chaplin, Paula Deacon-Garcia and Greg Schwarze - DuPage County Board 6 joined the Senior Citizens Council delivering meals.
