We are not an organization that simply operates as a campaign warehouse for politicians, we are a year-round operation that works to champion the causes of our voters. For anyone that missed the live broadcast on WCPT Chicago's Progressive Talk Radio, I spoke about the amount of respect that I have personally felt from so many members of the DuPage Dems. Years ago the idea of an openly LGBTQ Chair in DuPage would have been laughable, especially embodied by a Black man. By Chris Hotchkin The Downers Grove Township Democratic Organization will participate in two parades on July 4, 2023. Please join us in one or both parades so we can show off our strong and vibrant organization! Please wear a DGTDO or a Democratic Party of DuPage County t-shirt if you have one. We will have some at the parade line up also. Or, you can wear red, white, and blue. In the morning we will be in the Darien Independence Day Parade. We will gather in the Jewel parking lot on Cass and 75th St. about 9:00. You can park in the lot away from the parade line-up or you can park at the end of the parade at Hinsdale South High School. Look for our Downers Grove Township Democrats banner. The parade steps off about 9:30. We will participate in the Downers Grove July 4th parade in the afternoon. This parade lines up in the Downers Grove North High School parking lot just east of Main, or on Sherman on the north side of the parking lot. We will gather about 12:30 and the parade steps off at 1:00. The parade goes south down Main Street to Warren Avenue. Parking will be on side streets or in the Downers Grove parking deck.
