Just A Few Ways To Celebrate Earth Day Every Day

Earth Day is a day of civic participation and political action focused on protecting our environment. Here are just a few ways you can help celebrate and carry on the work inspired by Earth Day.

Calculate your Carbon Footprint and then take action: Carbon Calculator.

Switch to energy-efficient light bulbs at home or work.

Switch to reusable bags for your weekly shopping.

Organize or participate in a cleanup effort (Adopt-A-Highway, Pond Sweep, etc…).

Volunteer at an Environmental Organization.

CNN Town Hall Event - Tonight

Join CNN live tonight from New Hampshire for the first major candidate event of the 2020 Presidential campaign. Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Amy Klobuchar and Mayor of South Bend Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, all on the same stage, back to back. Moderated by Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon.

DuPage Dems Difference Maker - Tina Tyson-Dunne

Tina has been strongly involved with politics in DuPage since the 2016 cycle. In 2016, she worked with Bernie’s Northern IL Group and then moved on to Hillary for America after the primary. After the 2016 General, she became involved with the DuPage Dems on a number of action teams, PR & Graphics, Election Protection and Gala Planning, as well as transitioning from Election Judge to Precinct Committeeperson. In the 2018 cycle, in addition to working for a number of candidates and working her precinct for all democratic candidates, Tina was a field organizer for Senator Tom Cullerton over Wayne Township and a part of Cook County.

In 2019, Tina ran a great race for Trustee in Lombard, and even though she didn’t win in the 2019 cycle, Tina has a bright future ahead, and we look forward to any future endeavors she decides to take. In addition to political work in DuPage, Tina has done a lot of volunteer work with the DuPage Forest Preserve, gained her master naturalist through the University of Illinois extension and worked with the Sierra Club Illinois chapter, Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy and Show Leopard Foundation. Fair Tax Day - April 30

It's time Illinois has a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. That's why we hope you'll join us on April 30th in Springfield for the Fair Tax Day of Action! With the legislature planning to vote on the fair tax amendment in the coming weeks, there's never been a more important time to make our voices heard on this critical issue. The program will kick off at noon on the Capitol Square. Please stay following the program to lobby your legislator.
