Greetings! An extremely imperative and exciting time lies ahead for our nation and nowhere was that more true than in DuPage! Congratulations to the bountiful and diverse slate of candidates who ran on Tuesday. We know your commitment is strong. The vital energy of campaigns that did not prevail (this time) contributes to our future wins and to creating a unified party that stands strong for human equality, economic and climate justice, as well as honoring women and the immigrants who make up the incredible tapestry that IS the United States of America.
This analysis by Cynthia Borbas, Chair of the Wayne Township Democrats, speaks directly to what we are seeing in our county and what that means for our collective future, which it MUST be, for our country to survive as a beacon of hope for the world.
"In the 2018 March Primary in DuPage County, 75% of Democratic Races had a woman and/or minority running, and of those Races, 80% were won by a woman and/or minority. The message is clear---Democrats want our leadership to represent everyone. We want all voices, without diminishing the ones already there, elevated to the same level. The Democratic Party will show that we hear the message of inclusion by ensuring we have women and minority leaders at every level from grassroots to the DNC. We are the change that we seek and we will make those changes in our own backyards, neighborhoods, county and country. The Democratic Party will ride the Blue Wave together through 2018 and beyond."
