(President Obama only beat Mitt Romney by 1.1%)

Greetings!

It's been a tough week. We all feel it.

Yesterday, Harold Pollack, a professor at University of Chicago, wrote in his Washington Post article There's no silver lining to Trump's win. We have to make our own:

"Democrats need some time to mourn. Take that time for self-care, for whatever gives you joy and restores your resilience...But then, after taking that time, we must get busy, to mobilize a broad coalition to oppose and eventually defeat President-elect Trump. There's no need for despair. Democrats are in far better shape than the Republicans were only eight years ago..."

We're ready to get started on the creation of a Post-Rauner, and then a Post-Trump, world in our own state by working in our own county pursuing ONE SIMPLE GOAL for the 2018 election cycle:

DEFEATING BRUCE RAUNER and his virulent call to dismantle unions and social safety nets while offering nothing in terms of job growth and continuing to strangle our revenue streams. EVEN THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE RATED HIS TENURE SO FAR AS AN "F".

Additionally, winning back the Governor's mansion makes CERTAIN that the Republicans DON'T do the remap in 2020. If Rauner prevails, the Republican remap erases all of our gains AND WE LOSE 3 congressional seats until 2030.
Really. Think about it.
Don't let that happen.

SIGN RECYCLING AVAILABLE THROUGH THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

Big THANKS to Gary Tomlinson for handing ALL of the recycling needs of the DuPage Dems. He does it cheerfully and year-round. THANKS, Gary

Please bring them to the Tomlinson residence at 1S500 Taylor Rd, Glen Ellyn and leave them in the stack by the garage or leave them at the DuPage Dems office at North Ave and Route 53 (Directions). If no one is at the Dems office leave them by the door. Both the plastic sign and the metal support can be recycled but they should be separated.

As Peter Dreier is quoted as saying in the WP article from Harold Pollack "MOURN, then organize". We have many resources to identify and move voters AND WE'VE GOT YOU! ! Please watch this space for ways to jump on to the many actions, both hard and soft, that are planned to continue moving DuPage in an ever bluer direction.
OR if you want to be in the front line, let us know and we will hunt up the resources and supporters for all actions that point to the continued bluing of DuPage and removing Rauner from office in November 2018!
