| Shortly after Thanksgiving (and partly dependent on how much pie came my way...), I begin to ponder what I'd like to wear to our Annual Dems Holiday party. The Empress is a pretty snazzy place so I'd like to find something equally festive. Today, I decided I might get lucky (and avoid that perpetually crazy line at Nordstrom Rack) by dgoing the resale route to find a blouse or sweater to jazz up something I already own. After a few fruitless dives into the chaos of consignment color and brand at Plato's Closet and a few others, I gave upand headed to Stein Mart where I always seem to find something that works. At one point, I saw a potentially perfect item and made my way toward it, took it from the hook, held it up and began to hem and haw about trying it on when I stopped in my tracks. The designer: Ivanka Trump. Right in that moment, I realized that I probably already have something in my closet that I can wear and headed home. Voting with your feet is something that has always appealed to me. BESIDES, neither you nor I need new duds to come to the Holiday Party, we just need to know that a roomful of committed friends and colleagues are going to be there and they want to celebrate with us over some delicious appetizers, fancy desserts and, maybe, a drink or two. Can't wait to see you December 2nd , 6 PM, Empress Banquets. (I hope you like what I'm wearing :)
