Greetings!
One of the lamentations I hear often from Democrats in DuPage is that they live in a "very Republican" neighborhood. Interestingly enough, when they are ready to get more involved and run for Precinct Committeeman, they also get the chance to receive our Database of Voters to use in their new blue franchise. Wow, are they surprised when they see how many people in their neighborhoods ARE NOT REPUBLICANS. They are equally pleased to find out that many actually shares their views and are relieved to know they can be more free to share their politics at neighborhood events!
OUR ANNUAL PICNIC, though, is a place where you CAN ALWAYS TALK about your thoughts, feelings and desires for your life and for our country and planet to just about everyone. It's fun, it's cathartic and it's a great chance to make new friends and colleagues while appreciating our beautiful Forest Preserve at Blackwell. Click the photo below to RSVP by picking a fun dish you'd like to pass (or bring directly from the store, it's all good!). Please indicate after your name the number of folks coming with you so that we can have plenty of dogs, burgers and beverages. Also, scroll past and read about signing up for the Nature Hike with a FP Ranger at 1 pm.

WHAT CAN WE BRING? RSVP by signing up to bring an item(s) here We would love it if you could also bring a few folding chairs if you have them.
WHAT CAN WE DO? Thanks to former Forest Preserve Commissioner Shannon Burns, we will have a steward there to help with a nature hike (Please see sign up address below) AND Dr Burns is creating a self-guided scavenger hunt! Additionally, the Forest Preserve is celebrating its 100th Anniversary with a 100 mile bike challenge. Participants who ride 100 miles in small increments throughout 2015 can get a commemorative pin. Why not bring your bikes for a short ride around Blackwell? Dr Burns will have log sheets so you can begin your tally that day.
