We need to talk.

Our new email address might give you a hint.
2016.
That's the focus of everything we talk about and work toward from here forward.
We want to know what you have to say.
Let's Talk.

The last 10 years have been heady times for the Democratic Party in the US and for the Democratic Party of DuPage in general. We've had lots of shifts in demographics, in leadership, in political cartography, and in maturity (and sometimes lack thereof) when it comes to relating to one another either across political divides or through ethnic differences or, even, stylistically, as we try to work with a growing group of people who don't always have the same approaches even when they share the same values.

And

We need to talk.

About the next 10 years and not let the last 10 be the laurels we rest on nor the crosses we hang on.

2016 will bring challenges all its own and we will need to open our hearts and minds to meet them as a Democratic team that has created deep roots and can thus build a higher, more solid beacon of hope for all especially the middle class, people in the margins and our neighbors in ethnic minorities struggling to add their rightful flavoring to our American melting pot.

Let's Get Started. Sign up for the June 20th Potluck where we can chat and chew on these ideas and break bread together as well. If you think you represent an outside opinion of what is happening with the Democratic Party in DuPage, we ESPECIALLY NEED YOU THERE!

The potluck sign up sheet will serve as your RSVP. Please have each person attending sign up to bring something.

Really ready to talk?

Summer Happy Hours begin on June 12th at Mullen's in Lisle (3080 Warrenville Road). Just ask the hostess where we are.

5:30-7:30 pm The DuPage Democrats will pick up the first round of appetizers and will supply a fun theme about which to start conversations with those you don't know. You are certain to shake off the workweek dust and may even meet your next lifelong friend at one of these events (at least you know the most important thing up front--they share your political leanings!).

Look forward to seeing you. (The next one will be on July 10th with a place TBD).

If we talk to them, they will come.

There are thousands of DuPage Democrats who are just waiting for an invitation to climb aboard. Talking to them is an easy thing to do to make our 2016 team grow exponentially.

Our phone banks are up and running and ready for you to take JUST ONE two-hour shift in the next month.

Dates upcoming:
June 8, 9, 10
June 15, 16, 17
June 23, 24
June 29, 30

Shifts start at 6:30 pm and run until 8:30 pm.
Write to 2016@dupagedemocrats.com with PHONE BANK in the memo!

  • You will be dialing friendly, strong Democratic voters
  • You will be offering them fun events to attend
  • You will be trained and given good, tested scripts
  • You will be among fun colleagues
  • You will be greatly appreciated (and probably want to come back!)
Come talk with our union friends and other amazing Democrats while playing a relaxed round of GOLF!

If you got a chance to read the article we posted in a previous blast then you know that golf is still on the forefront of ways to do business in a classy laid back way (politics is the business of the polis, after all!).
This is an especially good way for candidates who are thinking of throwing their hats in the ring to meet members of unions and others who may wish to support their campaigns. It is also just a good damn time on a beautiful summer day with adult beverages, good BBQ and a nice dinner buffet with raffles and hobnobbing.

Here's something to talk about:

What IS the Chairman
Up to NOW?

Our Chairman is the outward face for Democrats in DuPage and that means that he serves in variety of capacities every week (and often every day). Pictured here is just a sampling of the things he has been doing this spring to represent our party's values and further the mission of the DPDC.

Not long ago, Chair was the honored guest and keynote speaker at an event hosted by the Sudanese community. Nearly every month, he attends a lunch with the Asian senior community at Sabri to find out what issues are most important to them. Recently he took the time to continue his cultivation of relationships with leadership in the city including Aldermen Ameyar Pawar and Michelle Smith.

As you have seen before (and also pictured above), Bob can often be found on the front lines supporting some of our important issues of the day. Not long ago, he was discovered with PC and COD candidate Dan Bailey at a rally for raising the minimum wage.

There is not time nor space to highlight everything Chairman Peickert does on a local and statewide level to enhance our organization but, next time you see him, please shake his hand and thank him for spending as much time as he does, gratis, to make sure DuPage Democrats have a fantastic reputation both inside and outside of DuPage.
