1) ADOPT A PRECINCT; a unique local program in which you are the star
who moves tens, if not hundreds or thousands of DuPage voters to the polls not only for President Obama but for our many great candidates all the way down the ballot!
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
If you are not already an elected or appointed Precinct Captain, we still have important work for you to do in areas without current leadership. What you would do at this point:
1. Get psyched to move as many voters as you can in your area to the polls over the next two months.
2. Write to us, right now, with your name, address, phone and email to: info@dupagedemocrats.com PLEASE put Adopt a Precinct in the subject line so I can find it quickly and get this moving with you! (You can use this address to ask questions too or leave a message at 331-684-7483, Amy Rohrer, Exec Dir)
3. Come into our office on one of these three days to get a short training and pick up your adoption papers! (see the map link below at the Obama sign info)
- Saturday September 15 10-5
- Sunday September 16 10-5
- Tuesday September 18 6:30-8:30 pm
2) BE A BILINGUAL ELECTION JUDGE
In order to comply with the federal Voting Rights Act we need Spanish/English speaking people to serve as election judges in the November 6 general election. They must be registered voters in DuPage County and willing to work from 5:30am to about 8:30pm on election day, Tuesday, November 6. On-line training is available.
Pay for the day is $130 and for the training is $30. If you or someone you know is a Spanish/English speaking person who is willing to work please send name and contact information to Judges@dupagedemocrats.com as soon as possible.
If you would like to work but are not registered to vote, please send your name and contact information to the same e-mail address and we will arrange for your voter registration.
Thanks for your help in this important democratic process.
