A Word from Chair Reid McCollum
The words and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are the inspiration we need right now as we stand against the hate and division of Trump and GOP extremism in DuPage and across the nation. Dr. King led with love because of his unwavering faith, but also because of his political savvy. He understood that change requires more than conviction - it requires a plan and good people willing to help execute it.
Eight years ago, I got involved politically for the first time after the election of Donald Trump. So did millions of others around the country. Thousands of our fellow citizens in DuPage County are once again ready to get involved in the fight for our shared values.
Please help spread the word about our Volunteer Expo on Sat. Feb. 8 at 10 am at the College of DuPage (details below). More than 30 Democratic groups, civic organizations, and campaigns will be in attendance. They'll have representatives at tables to share about their work and how to get involved. The Facebook event and printable flyers are linked below.
Early voting for the April 1 consolidated election begins in just 54 days. We need volunteers to help us write postcards to encourage Democrats in DuPage to vote in these critical elections for school board, library board, municipal offices, and township government. The postcards are free, but volunteers will need to provide the postcard stamps, which are $0.56. Sign-up below to help write postcards.
So far many of you have purchased items to support a newly arrived refugee family through Exodus World Service. But there are still many much-needed items on the wish list. Please consider donating an item from the wish list below.! |
