Hello fellow Dems,
On Sunday February 18th we get the opportunity to celebrate history. Senator Carol Moseley Braun is the first African American female Senator in America. In 2024, this is why it matters:
As a nation we are finally discussing the roads and pathways that are needed for both women and African American people. While there has been a clear and concise roadmap built for women nationally and locally, the road map for African Americans, especially African American women is still unwritten.
In honoring and celebrating this history maker, we also look forward to building the pathway to have more diversity in our government and more importantly in our legislative offices. Personal stories matter and tell a far better narrative of the pulse of a people than any poll ever could.
I look forward to celebrating with you Chairman Ken Mejia-Beal
