Greg and team had a blast walking in the Winfield Good Old Days parade last weekend, where he was delighted to meet "Penny" the Dalmatian. As your County Board Member in District 6, Greg is proud to represent the wonderful residents of Winfield, as well as Bartlett, Carol Stream, Warrenville, Wayne and West Chicago, along with portions of Aurora, Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, St. Charles and Wheaton.
80,000 DuPage County Residents Don't Know Where Their Next Meal is Coming From
Greg attended the multi-Chamber of Commerce Hunger Action event to hear a panel discussion on strategies to combat this serious issue. Greg has also met with representatives from the Northern Illinois Food Bank and dozens of local food pantries (including Milton Township shown in photo below), in his effort to provide food security across the County. As Chair of Human Services, Greg was instrumental in securing over $5 million in ARPA funds for direct aid to food pantries.
AGING IN COMMUNITY
Greg participated in an excellent workshop "Aging-in-Community" co-hosted by the Metropolitan Mayor's Caucus and the Carol Stream Social Services, and attended by representatives from Milton Township, Bloomingdale Township, Windsor Park Manor, and Colony Park as well as Carol Stream Village staff and Police Department. The workshop focused on "community" support in assisting our senior population, and discussed results of over 400 questionnaire responses from area seniors.
