Friend, Is there anything to be thankful for in 2020? Also, please consider donating blood this Friday at our Blood Drive.

Fellow Dems,

2020 Brought Us

A global pandemic that has killed hundreds of thousands of people in the US (and more than a million worldwide) and resulted in economic, social and mental health hardships for millions.

A spotlight to the true injustice many people face in this country, simply because of the color of their skin.

The worst in people and elected officials who embrace fascism and white supremacy and who turn their back on the Promise that is America.

Devastating wildfires across the globe.

Civil unrest across the globe.

Any many more traumatic events that have elevated the grief we all carry.

At initial glance, 2020 may seem like a year where there is nothing to be thankful for, so I thought I would share some of the things I am thankful for in 2020.

What I am thankful for in 2020

I am thankful that I was never alone in the fight for Economic Justice, Civil Rights, the Environment and the Soul of Our Nation.

I am thankful for the increased awareness around critical issues such as racial injustice and climate change.

I am thankful that President Trump was not re-elected, and we have the opportunity to correct the course of where this country was headed from a policy and political discourse standpoint.

I am thankful to all the Democratic Candidates who stood up with courage to fight to make their communities better.

I am thankful for the opportunity to continue the good work of making sure we have a representative government that works for and by the people.

I am thankful for you...

Sincerely,
Cynthia Borbas Chair of the DuPage Democrats
