Tinker Harvey 1924-1913 Chicago Tribune Dec 24: Kathryn "Tinker" Harvey was a force for the Democratic Party in the traditionally Republican stronghold of DuPage County for nearly five decades, and over the years stood up on issues including women's rights, the environment and fair housing. "Tinker Harvey worked for years to establish the Democratic Party of DuPage County," U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said in an email. "It was a hard, lonely struggle, but she approached it with determination, force of will and a caring heart - and she lived long enough to see some electoral successes."
