Democratic Party of DuPage County Sees Attendance, Fundraising Spike at Gala

Lombard, Ill. - April 28 - The Democratic Party of DuPage County (DPDC) doubled the amount of funds raised and saw a 150 percent increase in attendance over last year as 750 people packed the Carlisle Banquets in Lombard at its annual gala this past Sunday, April 23. The event featured remarks from Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee Keith Ellison; gubernatorial candidates State Sen. Daniel Biss, Bob Daiber, Chris Kennedy, Ald. Ameya Pawar, J.B. Pritzker; Poland's Secretary of Solidarity Ewa Zydorek; andother elected officials (see below for full list). Proceeds from the event will support the DPDC's efforts to elect Democrats at all levels of government. For select photos and captions from the event, see here. "We are pleasantly overwhelmed at the outpour of support from members old and new, as well as elected officials and candidates inside and outside DuPage," said Robert Peickert, Chair of the DPDC. "As the second largest county in the state, DuPage will play a large role in the 2018 gubernatorial election. The funds raised from gala will support DPDC's Operation: Turn DuPage Blue to take back the governor's seat and elect democratic county board members at the local level."
