Greetings! One of my favorite things about our Annual Presidents' Day Gala is the opportunity to bring the warmth of political camaraderie into the cold heart of February in Chicagoland. For some, it is the only time of year they get to see important friends and allies and, for others, it is an eclectic gathering of folks who are dedicated to the principles of being a Democrat yet exercise it in an equally eclectic variety of ways. That, in and of itself, is a reason to attend---just to be part of a group which acknowledges, with our presence and our dollars, that our BIG TENT makes room for all kinds and that our coalescence can win elections. As an organizer of this event, I'll admit, I am a little jealous of those who get to attend. It's rare that I can even make it halfway around the room at the Gala to express my sincere appreciation to all who attend.
