THANK YOU FIRE FIGHTERS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

What a great turnout for Greg's Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois canvas event with State Senator Karina Villa and State Representative Maura Hirschauer! Fire Fighters from West Chicago, Carol Stream, Elgin, Joliet, Champaign, Dekalb, and Lincolnshire joined us. Special thanks to AFFI President, Chuck Sullivan, for his words of support.

 SUPPORTING SPECIAL NEEDS

Board Member Schwarze joined Parents Alliance Employment Project for the annual "Be Inspired to Hire" event in Oak Brook on October 9th. PAEP is devoted to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities through individualized employment services. Greg spoke with Executive Director Kristen Sheffield and congratulated keynote speaker Katie O'Neill for her inspiring speech. As we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month, DuPage County will co-sponsor a hiring event October 29th at NIU Naperville.

 BARKAPALOOZA 2024!

Greg was happy to support the West Suburban Humane Society's annual Barkapalooza fundraiser two weeks ago. It was a fun day with furry friends for a great cause!

 Volunteering at Bartlett OKTOBERFEST

Greg enjoyed volunteering with wife Julia at the annual Bartlett Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest. Always a fun way to support our local businesses!

 DUPAGE COUNTY 2025 BALANCED BUDGET

DuPage County Board Chair Deborah Conroy presented a balanced budget of $635.8 million for Fiscal Year 2025, with NO increase to the County's portion of property taxes. The Chair's proposed budget outlines key priorities that support vital County services, including public safety, food insecurity, mental health, and more.

 ALWAYS FIGHTING FOR UNION RIGHTS

Greg would like to thank the Metropolitan Alliance of Police - #126 for their endorsement. MAP 126 represents the over 150 DuPage County Sheriff Deputies and Court Security Officers. Greg supports public safety and is proud to fight for his union brothers and sisters in blue.

 COUNTY FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY PARK

County Board Member Schwarze believes it's important to invest in healthy recreational spaces for our children. He was proud to support DuPage County's grant funding of $1 million to renovate Carol Stream's Community Park, a vital gathering place for families throughout the neighborhood.

At the October 8th County Board meeting, the DuPage County Board and the DuPage Foundation welcomed grant recipients who were awarded $3.37 million in Transformational grants by the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership. The grants will help fund the work of 15 social service not-for-profit organizations serving DuPage County residents in the areas of food insecurity, housing instability, mental health, and substance use disorder.
