RUN LOCAL ILLINOIS

Exciting news! The Run Local Illinois campaign is recruiting candidates for the 2025 municipal elections across the state. This campaign is working closely with dozens of partner organizations like ours to identify qualified candidates to run for hundreds of seats — and ultimately build a strong bench for future elections!

Have you ever considered running for office? Click below to let us know if you’re interested in running for a local position in your municipality and we’ll pass your info onto your county party organization!

Building a bench of qualified candidates takes time and starts LOCAL. That’s why it’s important that we start recruiting local candidates today so we can run the strongest candidates possible tomorrow. This is a big team effort, and with your help, we believe we’ll be able to launch a large-scale, long-term effort to contest down-ballot elections for years to come.

If you’ve ever thought about running for office, or simply want to learn more about what that might mean for you, fill out the interest form here!

Public Education & Public Service in DuPage

In the upcoming spring elections, the College of DuPage Board will have numerous open seats for the role of Trustee. The Board, which meets monthly, consists of 7 elected positions and a non-voting student representative. The COD Board is responsible for the development and adoption of policies and oversight of college activities. It is a volunteer, part-time position. There are two 6-year terms and 1 two-year term open.

The College of DuPage, with 28,000 students, is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in Illinois. For those of us in DuPage, we know how many lives are improved by COD. It is an important and valuable resource.

The role of Trustee is non-partisan and the current Trustees come from many professions, currently with only one having a background in higher education. Non-partisanship serves the community and as Democrats, we should be enthusiastically seeking these roles, particularly when supporting public education is fundamental to our values and our residents appreciate the ability to work together on issues that serve the common interests.

A candidate must be a citizen of the United States who is at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and a resident of the Illinois Community College District 502.

If you are interested in being a candidate for this position, please contact us at info@dupagedemocrats.com and we will be glad to discuss it with you. We welcome candidates who value our public education in Illinois!
