It was covered by several TV news stations and the Daily Herald. Now is the time to stand up and fight back against an unelected billionaire who is illegally cutting vital services for millions of Americans. In addition, Trump's authoritarian actions, including illegal detentions are clear threats to the First Amendment and American democracy. At the protest, we handed out most of the remaining handwritten postcards to boost Democratic turnout in the April 1 elections, but there are still some left at our office (885 E Geneva) or the Downers Grove Dem office (908 Curtiss). Also, Swing Left DuPage is hosting a final postcard writing part at our office Thursday, March 20 from 6-8pm. Please submit a witness slip as a PROPONENT for HB2827 (also called the Homeschooling Act). Currently, there are ZERO regulations on homeschooling in Illinois. The Democratic State Representatives who introduced this bill are under attack by far-right extremists, and a lot of disinformation about the purpose of this bill is being disseminated.
