A Word from Chair Reid McCollum

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, former DuPage County Democratic Party Chair and former Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) Vice President Bob Peickert passed away.

Bob was Chair of DPDC from 2008 through the incredibly successful 2018 elections — a remarkable tenure. He was a dedicated leader with a huge heart and a vision that few others shared for what DuPage could become. Bob spearheaded "Operation Turn DuPage Blue" and dramatically increased the ranks of elected Precinct Committeepeople across the county. Bob's leadership helped elect three Democrats to the DuPage County Board in 2008 and seven in 2018. After stepping down in early 2019, Bob continued to be involved as a PC in York and a member of the DPDC Executive Committee. Here is a remembrance of Bob written by Dan Bailey and Amy Rohrer.

IDCCA President Mark Guethle worked closely with Bob and released the following statement:

“To know Bob Peickert was to know one of the most passionate Democrats in Illinois. Bob’s activism and enthusiasm have been and will continue to be felt for years to come. I join all 102 County Democratic Party Chairs in sharing our sympathies with Bob’s family, friends, and all DuPage County Democrats.”
