Celebrating life and loss; Michele Larsen 1976-2015 Jacob "Jay" Kasparian (1924-2015)

Email Header
Greetings!

As a big family sharing our life together, we will also share sadness and loss. This past week, we lost two gentle souls, one who has been a Democratic voter in DuPage for 51 years and one who will never see her 51st birthday. The obituary for Jay Kasparian can be found at the link below along with a little of his history with the organization. I did not know Jay well and I asked Chairman Peickert to offer his thoughts on Jay's passing.
Michele Larsen I knew very well and loved very much. This obituary is not easy for me to write.

MICHELE LARSEN 1976-2015

Michele Holcomb Larsen passed from this world on Sept 19th. She was full of light and full of darkness. She believed in humanity but often not in herself. She gave to the world all the love she had inside but forgot to keep a little tucked away for herself to use during those intense times of darkness. She tried to stay but, ultimately, she had to go. She leaves behind friends and loved ones as countless as the stars and she has given the world three precious souls who will go on without her even though it must feel impossible right now to do so.

If you knew Michele and you want to join in a celebration of her life on Friday, please go to the First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn at 424 Forest Ave from 3-9 pm. Storytelling about Michele's life will begin at 6 pm followed by a balloon launch.

Jay and Bea Kasparian have been Democratic voters in Addison Township since September 24, 1964. Wow.
They got more involved in Democratic politics over 10 years ago supporting the campaigns of Bob Peickert for County Board and Joe Vosicky for State House.
Aside from being regulars at all Addison meetings and events, Jay and Bea often helped in the DPDC office. They were a hard-working team together and their work has been deeply appreciated over the years.

Information about Jay's visitation can be found here.
We will miss you Jay. You were a kind and gentle soul and a Democrat through and through!

August 28, 2015
Greetings!

So sorry for the delay in giving you news about our August 22nd picnic but it's been a crazy week, as you will see, with lots of exciting new things popping!
Our 8th annual Democratic Picnic was, by far, the most delightful, scenic and well-attended ever. Thanks again to Shannon Burns
who got us this tremendous site at Blackwell Forest Preserve and to the whole team who made sure the day came off so beautifully.
AND TO YOU who showed up and got psyched for what's ahead. Thanks also to the candidates who made time in their schedules to address our picnic crowd:

***If you are a Democratic precinct committeeman in DuPage, petitioning will soon be underway. Please watch for your fall PC blast to be coming out early next week with all the details!

Outreach to Young Democrats in DuPage and America is just as important in 2016 and is was in 2008.

I'll let Anthony tell you himself. Read his welcome below and then click the picture to be magically transported to this Facebook Page where you can click like!

Find our new PROJECT BLUE page at our DPDC website here!

Contribute to the Recruitment Effort and be entered in drawing each month starting September 15th for a delicious dinner somewhere divine!

This year is going to be a big one for us--as all Presidential years have been since 2008. We have the chance to sweep in EVEN more folks than the 19 we have elected in DuPage over the last 8 years. ON TOP OF THAT, we need to keep the White House so that Supreme Court Justices chosen under the next president are liberal adjudicators who can change the course of this country and protect the futures of our children and grandchildren and beyond.
THIS IS A SERIOUS TASK BUT WE'RE ON IT!

FOR EACH SERIOUS PC candidate you refer to us, you will be entered in the drawing for that month and each succeeding month of the contest. Yes, this can include yourself!

FOR EACH TIME you come to the office to phone bank, you will be entered into the drawing as well. More details on phone b
anks in the next eblast.

DINE ON US AND LIFT UP OUR PARTY AND ITS PRINCIPLES AT THE SAME TIME! Contact us with any questions at 2016@dupagedemocrats.com

Help feed your hungry neighbors.

Each day, People's Resource Center (PRC), together with local business partners from around DuPage, are able to help provide hungry neighbors with nutritious groceries through PRC's Food Rescue Program.

The Food Rescue Program picks up food donations from local restaurants and grocery stores to help keep the pantry shelves stocked at PRC. In just the past year, the Food Rescue Van has picked up more than 850,000 pounds of food!

Currently, clients are welcome to visit PRC's food pantry once per month for about a week's worth of food. In response to the growing need within our community, PRC's Westmont location is expanding food pantry hours this October, and in January 2016, both PRC locations will start allowing clients to visit the food pantry twice per month.

To ensure that there is plenty of food on the shelves as we expand pantry services, PRC has purchased an additional Food Rescue Van. Through the gracious support of the DuPage Foundation, the Betty M. Bock, John W. Squire, and Cleve E.Carney Funds, $10,000 has been secured.

Together, we can help our hungry neighbors. We greatly appreciate your continued support in the community, and you're welcome to contact me with any questions you may have.
