Hi DuPage Dem,
Last night, voters held the entire Republican Party accountable for its failure to stand up to Donald Trump’s corruption and his betrayal of the American people. In DuPage County, we fielded strong Democratic candidates who will stand up for working families and represent every DuPage resident with fairness and integrity.
Congratulations and thank you to the candidates, townships chairs, PCs, volunteers, supporters, allied organizations, organized labor, elected officials and voters for standing up for democracy in DuPage County and across the country!
Democratic candidates won every contested race in DuPage County for the second consecutive year. Following the 2016 presidential election, Democrats held just a single DuPage county board seat. Last night, Democrats expanded their 12 to 6 majority to 17 to 1 and flipped Forest Preserve District 1, creating a 5 to 1 majority. Democrats flipped House Districts 47 and 48, as well as Senate District 24. Democrats also re-elected County Board Chair Deb Conroy, flipped the Treasurer’s office and Regional Superintendent of Schools, held the Clerk’s office, and elected the first Democratic Sheriff in living memory (possibly dating back to 1890).
Governor Pritzker won DuPage County—formerly one of the most Republican counties in the country—by nearly 30 percentage points, which is larger than his statewide margin.
Overall, our candidates went 53-0 with 15 flips in contested races with some portion in DuPage County. In the 2025-2026 cycle, the total is now 102-0 with 53 flips for DuPage Democrats in contested races.
As we look forward, the municipal elections are already upon us. But please make sure to find time to rest and reflect on what we have accomplished together.
